The truth is this relationship doesn't even extend as far as the boundaries of friendship. Eriol and Tomoyo each other address each other formally and concern themselves with matters about Sakura. It's odd how these couple of 10-year-olds are so well-mannered and polite.

I can remember two instances in which this pair went as far as exchange sentences with one another. One time, Eriol took note of how Tomoyo is always watching over Sakura. In response, she said it was just the same with Eriol and how he would do the same for Sakura. The response very much surprised Eriol, who then applauded her for her careful observation. Another instance would be when Tomoyo acknowledged the romance between Eriol and Kaho. She commented that he looked upon Kaho with the kindest eyes, and he happily agreed and then once again repeated his comment on Tomoyo's perception.

Canonically, that's how far anything goes with them. I'm not denying it, nor am I providing a basis for any romantic sparks between the two since this site acknowledges any sort of relationship between these two.
