The Samurai's Way

Thinking is an arduous task. Samurai Champloo throws three different, squabbling people together in a search for a samurai who carries the scent of sunflowers. We have Fuu, the girl who desires to meet with her father. Then there's Mugen, the loud, brash rogue with the unusual breakdance fighting technique. Lastly, we have Jin, the silent, benevolent, "traditional" samurai. Thus, we come to the main question. Why have a fanlisting for Jin?

I won't lie; Jin has much sex appeal, which is exponentially bolstered by his indifferent manner, elite combat skills, and... spectacles. Come on, the glasses themselves deserve some credit. But what lies beyond that apathetic countenance? Him being human, there could be anything, and this is seen so when much is revealed in the series about Jin's past. We discover the emotions he suppresses and his reasons for fighting. Such evidence to follow up with this would be his love for Shino and the death of his master, respectively. I, myself, was drawn to the depth of his past and it would be no surprise to hear the same from another admirer of Jin.

Aside from his serious nature, there is a comedic quality Jin contributes to Samurai Champloo. Who couldn't resist laughing when he cross-dressed or when his glasses were pawned to make some quick cash? And while apt with the sword, Jin isn't the sharpest sword in the... shed? Wow, that was a weak pun. He probably has as much logic as Mugen, what with their numerous, interrupted fights to the death. Perhaps the sadistic side in me is showing, but seeing someone having to thrive on little money and traveling with a dueling rival has me grinning from ear to ear.

Jin is a subject of interest to me because his stoic face hides all his troubles in the past. Because he is familiar with life of the sword, death and anguish linger with him wherever he goes. From this perspective, I have mixed feelings for Jin. I pity him but at the same time, I admire how well he can hold compose himself. There are many qualities about Jin which one can salivate over, sympathize with, or laugh at. I've listed only a few.

Grr... A fanlisting is a website that allows people to join and show their love for a certain subject. For example, this is the fanlisting for Jin, so visitors basically sign up and their name shows on the members list. There's nothing more to that. I frequently receive questions like, "What do we do now?", "Is this a club?", and "How do I sign up?"

A fanlisting is merely a list of fans, hence the name. It's just as simple as that. For more information, you should stop by The Fanlistings Network or The Anime Fanlistings Network.

Mwah! The layout was made in Photoshop and coded in Araneae. Many of the brushes come from Miss M. I received the privilege of adopting this fanlisting from Asperia. Thank you so much! Now, my faithful visitor, since you had the endurance to reach the bottom of this page, I believe it is time to give you a treat!
