What is a fanlisting?

A fanlisting is a website that allows people to join and show their love for a certain subject. I frequently receive questions like, "What do we do now?", "Is this a club?", and "How do I sign up?"

A fanlisting is merely a list of fans, hence the name. It's just as simple as that. For more information, you should stop by The Fanlistings Network or The Anime Fanlistings Network.

I turn to the warm wind for help

Why "Shiki no Uta"? Music is something I can't live without. I'm the person who listens to a particular song on loop for hours rather than setting a playlist while I'm at work on the computer. There are phases I pass through where a song will always be playing, maybe weeks on end, and then I'll stop, which results in me forgetting its existence on the hard drive.

My first fanlisting was for a song, which I adopted out to Mercedes. There were other song fanlistings but they met their demise some time ago, either closed or adopted out to more befitting owners. After a while, I gave up on song fanlistings because my interest in music faded in and out.

However, during summer of 2005, my siblings and I took up watching Samurai Champloo and not only did we fall in love with the series, we drooled over the ending theme. There wasn't much thought at the time but it's been over a year and "Shiki no Uta" plays occasionally and I'll repeatedly cry to Suzumi how fresh and wonderful it still sounds even after a year. In conclusion, I discovered "Shiki no Uta" to be an exception to my taste in music, a melody which never seems to grow old for me. So yes, that's why I have a fanlisting for this particular song.

As for the current layout, I didn't want to spend hours on Google scrounging for a decent image to edit so I spent said hours in Photoshop with my tablet and made my own fanart to work with. The full version may be found here and I'm quite proud of it. The textures used came from Hybrid Genesis. The fanart was a fun piece to work with but the layout is an entirely different story. It was a puzzle trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I didn't want a skins option because I wanted the user to experience the changes in seasons as they clicked on the links and this is what I came out. I'm pretty aware that users might be more annoyed than fascinated with my ideas but I'm satisfied that I could follow through with my concept.

"Shiki no Uta" means the song of four seasons and lyrics may be found here.
